The Amanzimtoti Athletics Club

Following is some history around the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club.

The club was formerly known as Paveley Harriers and was formed in 1975. Over the years the club has become one of the well known clubs in Kwazulu-Natal and has taken an active part in athletics in the province. Toti A.C. as it is commonly known with its distinctive orange, white and black colours hosts two extremely popular road races a year. These are the Dick King 21km run/15km walk usually during April and the South Coast Marathon, which for 2005 has changed to a 15km race due to recent changes made by ASA to limit the amount of marathons held in the province this year This will be held on the 16th of October and has kindly been sponsored by Goss and Balfe (Pty) Ltd. The club has hosted the South Coast Marathon in the past and might do it again, so keep an eye on their news section. Toti A.C. operates from Hutchison Park in Amanzimtoti and can boast excellent facilities in the form of a clubhouse, 400m grass track and a scenic Cross Country course. The club together with KZN athletics has in fact over recent years hosted two South African X-C championships and hosts a league meeting every year and quite often the KZN champs. The club has a membership in the region of 220 members who take part in all aspects of athletics i.e. X-C, Track & Field, Walking and Road Running. The club can boast a number of provincial representatives and even a Junior Springbok. CLUB KIT Runing Vests and Crop Tops can be purchased at Jimmy D`s in the Pick and Pay Shoping Center, or at Sanlam Center in Amanzimtoti.
